Matsapha Campers & Trailers have recently launched our new light-weight, B-licence-ready off-road caravan. Our first unit has a Tare weight of between 250 and 280 kg, depending on custom specifications opted for by the client.
Our Matsapha has an orignal design, with a back door that opens up into a solid roof for the tent area. The door is opens with the help of gas struts, with the fold-away tent fixed to the inside the door.
The entrance has a canvas door, which can be zipped closed for privacy with no need to close the main door.
The caravans are built from square tubing, welded together before being cladded with a durable, patterned, 3mm interior boarding, insulated with polystyrene.
All panels are glued with a special epoxy adhesive, and all fittings are attached with stainless steel self-taping screws as well as being bonded with epoxy.
The chassis and frame are spray painted with and anti-rust primer and rubberized as a finished product.
The floor of the caravan is 9mm marine ply and sealed with a chassis sealer. All the finishing strips are aluminium.
There are built-in cupboards above the sleeping area, as well as at the entrance of the caravan – this storage area can either be on the top of the entrance or on either side, depending on whether you choose the small or big variant.
The storage compartment underneath the floor is fitted with gas struts for ease of opening and closing, and has a lockable lid for safety and during travel.
Two sliding windows either side of caravan are fitted with fly screens – the windows are big enough for ventilation but small enough to keep items safe inside.
